History of the Bow Valley Workplace Inclusion Charter

Developed by a partnership of community agencies and employers, the Workplace Inclusion Charter was piloted by 8 pioneering employers representing 28 businesses in Banff and Canmore, Alberta, in 2017-2018. The Bow Valley Workplace Inclusion Charter ran in 2022 with 11 employers, including several who had previously participated in 2018. We are currently welcoming employers to the 2023 WIC program.

Since the initial launch in 2018, the program has expanded to additional communities. Over a dozen other communities across Canada have adopted similar programs.
