Bronze (Required)

Commitments

Complete all 5 to be recognized as a 2024 Bronze Workplace Inclusion Champion.

 

1. Tell your team about your Workplace Inclusion Charter commitments within 30 days of signing. Details & Resources ➝

2. Designate a central location to house settlement and community resource information for staff. Details & Resources ➝

3. Support referrals to Settlement Services in the Bow Valley during onboarding and when supporting Permanent Residency applications. Details & Resources ➝

4. Make at least one type of staff facility gender neutral. Details & Resources ➝

5. Add an equal opportunity (or ‘pro-diversity’) employer statement to recruitment advertisements with directions on how to request accommodations during the hiring process. Details & Resources ➝


 

Silver & Gold Commitments

Complete any 5 additional commitments (10 total) to be recognized as a 2024 Silver Workplace Inclusion Champion,
or 9 more (14 total) for Gold Workplace Inclusion Champion status.

6. Have a workplace document reviewed for plain language considerations or complete the Plain Language in the Workplace online workshop.

7. Adopt a time off policy that accommodates diverse cultural traditions and holidays.

8. Create an emergency response plan that considers the needs of newcomers and English language learners.

9. Enroll one or more leaders in intercultural competence training and share what you learned with your team.

10. Become a WIC peer-supporter through mentorship or consultation.

11. Ensure at least 70% of your leadership team  complete 2SLGBTQIA+ inclusivity training & complete a training evaluation form.

12. Provide Settlement Services in the Bow Valley with a point-in-time staffing profile for your organization.

13. Adopt a policy and standard operating procedure for the use of interpretation & translation.

15. Enroll at least 50% of staff or 5 leaders in Upstander Training.
