Workplace Inclusion Charter
As the Bow Valley recovers from the economic impacts of covid-19, we’re making it even easier for inclusive businesses to be recognized for their efforts.
The Bow Valley 2020 Workplace Inclusion Charter has no tiers. Simply demonstrate completion of any 6 of the following commitments by the end of the year to be recognized as a Workplace Inclusion Champion in January 2021.

3 - Use pictures, videos, & demonstrations of safe work procedures

4 - Identify employees’ first languages – including for those who are fluent in English.
5 - Collect employees’ current cell phone numbers. Make cell phone communication a part of your emergency response plan.
6 - Create standard operating procedure(s) to embed referrals to settlement services in re-launch, onboarding, and AINP processes.

Use and forward this form to Settlement Services in the Bow Valley to easily complete both commitment 4 and 5.
Tip: Use & forward the Settlement Services in the Bow Valley Referral Form (above) to easily complete commitments 4-6 — halfway to Inclusion Champion status!
7 - Translate: Layoff, layoff extension, recall and termination notices; safe work procedures, onboarding packages, benefits information, important all staff messages.
8 - Schedule interpretation for important all staff meetings.
9 - In all communications, explain and build context around key terms including: EI, health benefits, paid/unpaid leave, layoff.
10 - Provide staff access to computers and basic technical support upon request (ex. help turning on computer or opening an email program.)
11 - Send attached memo on English language learning to leaders in all departments.
